When I first gave this a try, I had a tiny sample.
That quickly changed!
Sigrun ended up getting me this mask for Christmas since I never stopped whining about it. I kinda fell in love with the sample, and when I got my own jar this mask ended up being my biggest treat yo self-treatment so far. I actually think that this is my second SkinFood product, and the love for their products might be an ongoing thing thinking about my experience with the Oil Cleanser that you can read about here.
This soft, and fluffy mask with tiny exfoliating grains origins from SkinFood’s brightening line, containing Odae rice water. Oda rice water is made from the rice bran, this is the thin film that’s produced during the milling process. It contains proteins, vitamins, and minerals that brighten and nourish the skin while bringing you that radiant glow you’d do anything for! But let’s not forget, rice is a rich source of vitamin E, an antioxidant that fights anti-aging, free radical damage and linoleic acids. So what is linoleic acid? It’s a fatty which is essential for healthy skin, with its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties it softens the skin while making it supple. Providing healing support to skin cell regeneration just makes it a great acne-fighter.
This wash-off is made of ground rice that actually is a perfect replacement for those plastic microbeads that’s a common ingredient in facial products that are supposed to exfoliate your skin. And it’s also pretty easy to use. Gently massage the mask onto freshly washed, damp skin while avoiding the eye area. You leave it on for 10 – 15 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water. However, I kinda have my own routine for this exact product. I massage a thick layer onto damp skin, leave it on for 30-40 mins, and then I massage it before and during the rinsing process. It is recommended to use it once a week. But since I have so many other products I kinda forget about it often and I usually use it when my acne has calmed down and I just wanna fade my scars while lightly exfoliating and moisturizing my skin.
My total opinion from this product is that this is a super cheap and great mask that gives you a healthy, dewy glow while evening out the skin tone and bringing a lot of moisture to the table! It reminds me of rice pudding and I kinda wanna it eat because it smells amazing and looks delish! Try it out, you’ll love it! I can’t wait to try out other masks from SkinFood myself!
