Applying a sheet mask isn’t just slapping it up on the face, there are actually some steps that you should do to get the most out of your treatment session.
I always double cleanse, I mean – hows the mask gonna do its magic if my skin is dirty? There are some masks there that can be applied over makeup and a not so clean face, but I prefer starting with a clean canvas. For the first step, I lather my oil cleanser onto my skin and wash it off followed by my gel cleanser, sometimes I even let both of them stay on my skin for a minute or so just to make sure they go deep and remove all of my impurities. For the moment I don’t have an exfoliator, so my face hasn’t been exfoliated for a while now, however, I do have the COSRX One Step Moisture Up Pads that kinda works like a very gentle exfoliator (yes I will be reviewing this soon).
I swipe the pad gently across my face, first with the embossed site and then I turn it over to the other side just to wipe away the impurities left. This pad kinda works as an exfoliator, but it won’t do the same thing – look at it as a little pick me up during the day for the skin since there’s no need to wash it off. After I’m done swiping this across my face, I gently tap it onto my skin and let it soak for a minute or two followed by the one and only Son & Park Beauty Water. I apply a few drops to the palms of my hand and lightly massage it onto my face, and then – no I’m not done yet, there’s still one product left. Then I apply my toner, why? Cause toners deep cleanse your skin and prep the skin to absorb the next step.
Okay, so now you can tear open the pouch and pull out the mask. However, be careful! The mask is soaked and I find it handy to apply it over the skin just in case of any dripping. Unfold the mask and place it on your face, aligning the holes with your eyes, nose, and mouth. I mean, or else – why would there be holes for this? If your mask is a real bargain, there would be a lot of extra essence in the pouch. Apply the extra essence on your neck, shoulders, and hands. This is good for you and you shouldn’t let any go to waste!
