Laneige Review || Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry

If you live in a cold country like me, you probably have dry, chapped lips? This might be your knight in shining armor.

When it comes to my lips, sometimes applying lip balm isn’t enough and no matter how much I apply my lips still stay dry and chapped. So when I came across the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, I figured out I’d try it out! The sleeping mask is made with Moisture Wrap™, Laneige’s patented moisture technology that forms a moisturizing film which helps to lock-in active ingredients such as hydro ion mineral water, evening primrose root extract, and Hunza Apricot extract for the skin to absorb throughout the sleep and also,  the Berry Mix Complex™, which is rich in Vitamin C to gently exfoliate dry flakes, containing raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry and goji berry, this will help “melt” away dead skin cells from the lips and ta-da help you wake up to smoother and suppler lips. Laneige is known for their simple, yet classy design and the pink jar is super cute, so is this a legit enough reason to buy it?

The sleeping mask has a softening balm texture that closely adheres to the lips for quick absorption.  The main thing is, this lip mask will do the same thing for your lips as a sleeping pack would to for your face and skin while you get your beauty rest. Currently, my lips are either extremely dry or chapped so this thing might have been doing its job the nights I’ve remembered to use it the last month or so.  It goes on colorless and might have this little pink-ish hint when applying it, but its pretty see through. The texture reminds me of the eight hour cream from Elizabeth Arden (that I used so much when I was younger I’m resistant to now), it’s less sticky and feels like a silky smooth balm. Since I’m used to going to bed with a ton of product on my face, I actually don’t overkill it with this, I just spread a tiny scoop across my lips with the cute little applicator (you are supposed to wash this every time you use it, but I kinda just clean it with a makeup remover pad since I’m too lazy to get out of bed). A little bit goes a long way, and technically, you need a tiny amount each time – think, less than eye cream.

When it comes to the scent, I don’t have anything negative to say. It kinda smells like Haribo? Or strawberry candy? It’s hard to say, but it smells good! If the 10-year old me came across this product, I’d probably want to smell like it 24/7. But to be honest, I had to stick my nose into the jar *unhygienic* to actually notice the smell and be able to write about it.

The result;

Since I’ve been using this for a while now, it’s hard to rant about the negative things, especially since there’s nothing negative to say about it! When I wake up in the morning, there’s still some product left on my lips. After my cleansing routine, which washes away the residue, my lips still feel soft without any extra help. Before this, my lips would always get dry after the cleaning, but with this, my lips stay soft! However, I always apply lip balm while I apply the rest of my morning routine and makeup, cause you know – old habits die hard…

It’s kinda tricky to actually explain, but it feels like my lips are holding on to moisture, unlike other products that just make my lips greasy and ehh.. sometimes dryer. And the best thing,  the moisturizing effect lasts for several hours, and the cold weather doesn’t kill my lips as bad as usual, I’m excited to see if this still will work when the snow comes!
